Positioned in the northwestern part of South America and sharing a border with Panama, the Republic of Colombia exported goods valued at approximately US$50.2 billion in 2025. This highlights the growing importance of Colombia's exports in global trade. The figure represents a 23.9% increase compared to $40.5 billion recorded in 2021.
On a year-over-year basis, however, growth in Colombia's exports remained relatively modest, with a slight 1.25% increase from $49.6 billion in 2024. In terms of currency movements, the Colombian peso weakened slightly by 0.5% against the US dollar in 2025, making Colombia's exports more competitively priced for international buyers.

Key Export Destinations
Recent trade figures show that 70.6% of Colombia's exports were concentrated among a group of major trading partners. The United States dominated as the top destination, accounting for 30.7% of total exports. Other significant markets included Panama, India, Brazil, the Netherlands, Ecuador, mainland China, Canada, Mexico, Peru, Venezuela, and Chile.
From a regional perspective, North America absorbed the largest share of Colombia's exports at 37.8%, followed by Latin America (excluding Mexico but including the Caribbean) at 29.5%. Asia accounted for 15.9%, while Europe represented 15.1%. Smaller shares went to Africa (1.3%) and Oceania (0.5%).

Among them, ores, slag, and ash recorded the fastest growth, rising by 301.9% year over year. Coffee, tea, and spices followed with a 67.8% increase, while fats and oils grew by 64.4%. The only declining category within Colombia's exports was mineral fuels, which dropped by 22.1%.

At the four-digit HS code level, the most valuable components of Colombia's exports included crude oil (19.7%), coffee (11.9%), unwrought gold (9.2%), coal and solid fuels (8.2%), fresh or dried flowers (4.8%), refined petroleum products (4.6%), bananas and plantains (3.1%), palm oil (1.6%), coke and semi-coke (1.6%), and structural materials such as bridge components (1.3%).
These products together made up about 65.9% of total Colombia's exports, reflecting the country's reliance on energy, mining, and agriculture.
