This figure marks a solid 14.3% increase compared to export revenues of $194.7 billion in 2021. On a year-over-year basis, Austrian exports also rose by 7.8%, up from $206.4 billion in 2024.
Using the average exchange rate for 2025, Austria operates with the euro, which appreciated by 4.4% against the US dollar compared to the previous year. As a result, Austrian goods priced in euros became relatively more expensive for international buyers using US dollars.

Key Export Destinations
Recent country-level data indicates that 73.3% of Austria’s exports were absorbed by major trading partners, including Germany (29%), the United States (6.5%), Italy (6.5%), Switzerland (5.3%), Slovakia (4.2%), Poland (3.9%), the Czech Republic (3.7%), Hungary (3.6%), France (3.5%), the United Kingdom (2.7%), China (2.6%), and Slovenia (2.1%).
From a regional standpoint, Europe dominates Austria’s export landscape, accounting for 79.4% of total export value. Asia follows with 9.5%, while North America represents 8.3%.

Pharmaceuticals were the only category to decline, recording a 9.1% drop year over year.
