Global exports of corn, also known as maize, generated US$48.75 billion in 2025, making it one of the most valuable agricultural commodities traded worldwide.
Compared with US$51.9 billion in 2021, the total value of international corn exports declined by 6.1% over the five-year period. However, export revenues rebounded in 2025, rising 6.9% from US$45.6 billion recorded in 2024.
The world's leading corn exporters in 2025 were the United States, Brazil, Argentina, Ukraine, and France. Together, these five countries supplied 82.3% of global corn export value, demonstrating their dominant role in international grain markets.
Corn Exports by Region
North America remained the largest exporting region for corn in 2025, with shipments valued at US$19.5 billion, representing 40% of total global exports.
Latin America and the Caribbean (excluding Mexico) ranked second, accounting for 32.5% of worldwide corn export revenues.
European suppliers contributed another 22.1% of global exports, while other regions represented smaller shares:
· Asia: 3.3%
· Africa: 2.1%
· Oceania: 0.1%, primarily Australia and New Zealand
For customs and trade classification purposes, corn is categorized under HS Code 1005.

· United States: +31.6%
· France: +30.5%
· Canada: +23.3%
· Austria: +11.3%
These gains were driven by stronger harvests, increased export demand, and favorable market conditions.
Countries Recording Export Declines
A number of major corn-exporting countries reported lower export revenues compared with 2024. The most notable declines included:
· Russia: -37.7%
· Ukraine: -26.9%
· Hungary: -21.9%
· Romania: -19.3%
· Myanmar: -16.2%
· South Africa: -11.2%
Despite these reductions, several of these countries remained important suppliers in the global corn trade.
