Global exports of knitted and crocheted T-shirts reached US$58.8 billion in 2025, reflecting the continued strength of the international apparel industry.
Compared with US$50.3 billion in 2021, worldwide T-shirt exports increased by 16.8% over the five-year period. On an annual basis, export revenues rose 4.8%, climbing from US$56.1 billion in 2024.
The largest exporters of knitted or crocheted T-shirts in 2025 were China, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Germany, and Türkiye. Together, these five countries generated 48.2% of total global T-shirt export value, underscoring their importance in the international garment supply chain.

T-Shirt Exports by Region
Asia remained the world's leading source of T-shirt exports, shipping products worth US$32.8 billion and accounting for 55.8% of total global exports in 2025.
Europe ranked second with a 30.2% share of worldwide exports.
Other regions contributed smaller portions of international trade:
· Latin America and the Caribbean (excluding Mexico): 7.9%
· North America: 3.3%
· Africa: 2.7%
· Oceania: 0.1%, primarily Australia and New Zealand
Most Popular T-Shirt Materials
Cotton continued to dominate global T-shirt production and trade in 2025.
Exports of cotton T-shirts generated approximately US$40 billion, accounting for 68% of all international T-shirt sales.
Meanwhile, T-shirts manufactured from non-cotton textile materials produced export revenues of US$18.8 billion, representing the remaining 32% of the market.
From 2024 to 2025:
· Cotton T-shirt exports increased by 3.3%
· Non-cotton T-shirt exports expanded by 8.3%
