International trade in chicken products remained strong in 2025. Worldwide exports of fresh or chilled chicken reached US$11.9 billion, while frozen chicken exports generated a significantly larger US$22.6 billion in global sales.
Over the five-year period from 2021 to 2025, exports of fresh chicken expanded considerably. The value of fresh poultry shipments increased by 54.4%, rising from US$7.7 billion in 2021. In comparison, frozen chicken exports grew at a more moderate pace, advancing 21.7% from US$18.6 billion during the same period.
Among fresh chicken suppliers, the leading exporters in 2025 were Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, the United States, and Germany. Together, these five countries accounted for 69% of total global exports of fresh poultry meat.
The frozen chicken market was even more concentrated. The top five suppliers—Brazil, the United States, Thailand, the Netherlands, and Poland—collectively generated 71% of worldwide frozen chicken export revenues.
For trade classification purposes, the primary HS codes covering chicken exports are:
· 020711 – Whole fresh or chilled chicken
· 020713 – Fresh or chilled chicken cuts and edible offal

While Poland, the Netherlands, and the United States ranked among the leading fresh chicken exporters, Brazil continued to dominate global frozen poultry trade by a substantial margin.
