Located in the northwestern part of South America, Ecuador plays an important role in regional and global trade. In 2025, Ecuador's exports reached a total value of US$37.2 billion.
This figure represents a strong 41.4% increase compared to 2021, when Ecuador's exports were valued at US$26.3 billion. On a year-over-year basis, export value rose by 7.9%, up from US$34.4 billion in 2024.

According to the latest data, about 76.3% of Ecuador's exports were shipped to major trading partners, including the United States (18.5%), Panama (17.3%), China (16.1%), the Netherlands (4.3%), Spain (3.4%), Peru (2.9%), Russia (2.8%), Italy (2.41%), Colombia (2.38%), Malaysia (2.28%), Chile (2%), and Germany (1.97%).
From a regional perspective, Latin America (excluding Mexico but including the Caribbean) accounted for 28.4% of Ecuador's exports, followed by Europe at 25.2% and Asia at 24.9%.
North America represented 20.9% of Ecuador's exports, while smaller shares were distributed to Africa (0.4%) and Oceania (0.2%), led by Australia and New Zealand.
With a population of approximately 18.1 million, the total value of Ecuador's exports in 2025 translates to around US$2,050 per capita, up from about US$1,900 in 2024.

Among them, ores, slag, and ash recorded the fastest growth, increasing by 47.9% compared to 2024. Cocoa followed with a 29% rise, while vegetable exports grew by 26.7%.
The only category experiencing a decline was mineral fuels, which dropped by 19% year over year.
At the four-digit HS code level, the most valuable components of Ecuador's exports include crustaceans such as lobsters (22.6%), crude oil (18.8%), bananas and plantains (11.5%), cocoa beans (11.3%), prepared fish and caviar (5%), copper ores and concentrates (4.6%), precious metal ores (3.5%), unwrought gold (3.1%), fresh or dried flowers (2.8%), and refined petroleum products (2%).
