In 2025, Poland imported goods worth approximately US$420.9 billion from international markets, reflecting the country's strong domestic demand and expanding industrial economy.

Compared with 2021, when Polish imports totaled $335.5 billion, the overall value of imports into Poland increased by 25.5% over five years. On a year-over-year basis, Poland's import spending climbed by 10.9% from $379.5 billion recorded in 2024.

Currency movements also affected trade costs. Based on the average exchange rate for 2025, the Polish złoty strengthened by 6.1% against the US dollar compared with 2024. This appreciation made imported products purchased in US dollars relatively less expensive for Polish buyers.

Meanwhile, Poland's average inflation rate reached 4.286% in 2025, higher than the 3.723% average reported in 2024.

Since becoming a member of the European Union on May 1, 2004, Poland has maintained strong trade integration with fellow EU countries. In 2025, EU member states supplied more than two-thirds (67%) of all products imported into Poland.

With a population of approximately 36.6 million people, Poland's 2025 import value translated into roughly $11,500 worth of imported goods per resident, surpassing the average $10,400 per capita recorded in 2024.
