In 2024, global sales of fresh persimmons reached US$634.4 million.
Despite this total, international earnings from persimmon exports were 9.5% lower than in 2020, when worldwide shipments generated $700.7 million in revenue.
On a year-over-year basis, the export value of persimmons rose by 7.4%, increasing from $590.9 million in 2023.

On the import side, the Russian Federation, Germany, Italy, France, and Ukraine ranked as the top five purchasing countries. Together, these markets represented 54.5% of global persimmon imports in 2024.
This contrast highlights a more concentrated group of exporters—only 75 exporting countries—versus a broader base of 144 importing economies, illustrating wider global demand.
Overall, Europe absorbed 77.9% of total persimmon imports, far surpassing Asia (15.9%), North America (4.5%), Africa (1%), Oceania (0.4%), and Latin America (0.3%).
