Fossil fuels, including oil, are the fastest growing of the top ten export categories, growing by 3,683% from 2021 to 2022. This product category is driven by increased revenues from Moldova's exports of refined petroleum. The second highest growth in export sales was in animal or vegetable fats, oils and waxes, which increased by 210.6%. Moldova's oilseed exports ranked third in terms of volume growth, up 52.3 percent.


The worst declines among Moldova's top 10 export categories were furniture, bedding, lighting, signs and prefabricated buildings, down -6.7% year-over-year.
