In 2024, international exports of computer devices reached a total value of US$532.5 billion. This figure represents a significant 39.3% growth compared to the $382.4 billion recorded in 2020.
On a year-over-year basis, worldwide shipments of computer devices surged by the same 39.3% when measured against the $406.5 billion exported in 2023.
The top five exporters—mainland China, Taiwan, the United States, Hong Kong, and Mexico—together accounted for approximately 67% of global sales, underscoring the dominance of a small group of major suppliers in the industry.
Asia maintained its leading position, with suppliers on the continent exporting goods valued at $266.3 billion, making up 68.9% of the worldwide total.
Europe ranked second with a 16.4% share of exports.
North America followed with 14.3% of global sales.
Other regions contributed smaller portions: Oceania accounted for 0.16% (led by Australia and New Zealand), Latin America (excluding Mexico but including the Caribbean) represented 0.12%, and Africa supplied just 0.06% of total exports.
Note: The Harmonized Tariff System (HTS) code for computer devices is 8471, which officially covers automatic data-processing machines including magnetic or optical readers.

The most rapidly expanding exporters since 2023 were: Vietnam (+207.5%), Taiwan (+116.6%), Singapore (+90.9%), and Malaysia (+69.1%).
Exporters with the slowest growth included: United Kingdom (+1.6%), Netherlands (+2.7%), Germany (+3.5%), and mainland China (+7.2%).
