This total represents a 16.6% increase compared with export revenues of $573.3 billion recorded five years earlier in 2021.
On a year-to-year basis, the value of French exports also expanded 6.6% from $626.9 billion in 2024, reflecting stable international demand for goods produced in France.
Using the average exchange rate for 2025, the euro—the currency used in France—appreciated by 4.4% against the US dollar compared with 2024. Because of the stronger euro, French exports priced in US dollars became slightly more expensive for overseas buyers paying in American currency.
Among the most valuable products shipped abroad were aircraft and spacecraft, packaged pharmaceutical medicines, turbojet engines, automobiles, and automotive components. Combined, these categories generated 22.3% of total French export earnings, illustrating the country’s strong industrial and technological capabilities.
France also maintains a global reputation as the leading exporter of wine, while remaining a major supplier of aircraft components and pharmaceutical products worldwide.

Recent trade data shows that 69.3% of products exported from France were purchased by buyers in the following markets:

Among them, aircraft and spacecraft exports experienced the fastest growth, increasing 17.3% compared with 2024. Pharmaceutical shipments followed with 14% growth, while machinery and computer equipment exports rose 12.6% year over year.
The only major decline among these categories occurred in mineral fuels including oil, which dropped 8.7% compared with the previous year.
