Compared with $40.7 billion in 2021, the total value of Lithuanian exports increased by 2.3% over five years. On a year-over-year basis, export revenues also rose by 4.5% from $39.8 billion in 2024.


Lithuania uses the euro as its official currency. In 2025, the euro appreciated by 4.4% against the US dollar compared with the previous year, slightly increasing the cost of Lithuanian exports for international buyers using US dollars.

Lithuania's Main Export Markets

The latest country-level trade statistics show that 70.2% of Lithuania's exports were purchased by importers in Latvia, Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, Estonia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Ukraine, France, Norway, and Denmark.


Among these destinations, Latvia was Lithuania's largest export market, accounting for 12.4% of total exports. Poland followed with 10.2%, while Germany represented 9% of Lithuanian export value.

Lithuania officially joined the European Union on May 1, 2004. In 2025, fellow EU member states purchased 69.5% of Lithuania's exports, up from 67.2% in the previous year.


With a population of around 2.9 million people, Lithuania's exports in 2025 translated to approximately $14,400 per capita, higher than the $13,800 recorded in 2024.

4. Vehicles: $2.4 billion (5.8%)

5. Plastics and plastic articles: $2.3 billion (5.4%)

6. Machinery including computers: $2.2 billion (5.3%)

7. Wood: $1.6 billion (4%)

8. Pharmaceuticals: $1.5 billion (3.6%)

9. Optical, technical, and medical apparatus: $1.3 billion (3.2%)

10. Fertilizers: $1.1 billion (2.6%)

Together, Lithuania's top 10 export categories accounted for approximately 60.1% of the country's total export value in 2025.


Among these sectors, fertilizers recorded the strongest annual growth, rising by 49.5% compared with 2024. Optical, technical, and medical apparatus ranked second with an 11.5% increase, while pharmaceutical exports expanded by 10.7% year over year.


The only major export category that declined was plastics and plastic articles, which fell by 1.3% from the previous year.

At the more detailed four-digit Harmonized Tariff System level, Lithuania's most valuable export products in 2025 included:
