Including fresh, chilled, and frozen varieties, worldwide beef exports reached an estimated value of US$86.5 billion in 2025.


Compared with 2021, when global beef shipments totaled $60.6 billion, the overall export value increased by 42.8% over the five-year period.


On a year-over-year basis, international beef trade expanded by 22.4%, rising from $70.7 billion in 2024.


From a regional standpoint, Latin America (excluding Mexico but including Caribbean nations) generated the largest share of global beef export revenue in 2025. The region exported approximately $26.8 billion worth of beef, accounting for 31% of total worldwide beef exports.


European suppliers ranked second with a 28.2% share, followed by Oceania at 17.7%, driven mainly by Australia and New Zealand.


North America contributed 15.9% of global beef exports, while Asia and Africa represented smaller portions at 6.7% and 0.4%, respectively.

Beef Exports by Product Type

Fresh and chilled beef exports were valued at approximately $40.6 billion in 2025, representing 47% of total global beef exports. This was slightly lower than the 47.7% share recorded in 2024.


Frozen beef exports generated around $45.9 billion, accounting for 53% of total beef exports worldwide in 2025, up from 52.3% the previous year.


Export growth for fresh and chilled beef reached 20.8% year over year, while frozen beef exports posted a stronger 23.9% increase compared to 2024.


For reference, the 4-digit Harmonized Tariff System (HTS) codes are 0201 for fresh or chilled beef and 0202 for frozen beef.

The following countries recorded the highest export values for beef products in 2025, including fresh, chilled, and frozen categories combined:

1. Brazil: US$16.6 billion (19.2% of global beef exports)

2. Australia: $12.4 billion (14.3%)

3. United States: $8 billion (9.3%)

4. Netherlands: $4.9 billion (5.7%)

5. India: $4.5 billion (5.3%)

6. Argentina: $3.8 billion (4.4%)

7. Ireland: $3.68 billion (4.3%)

8. Poland: $3.68 billion (4.3%)

9. Canada: $3.4 billion (3.9%)

10. New Zealand: $2.9 billion (3.4%)

11. Uruguay: $2.7 billion (3.1%)

12. Mexico: $2.3 billion (2.7%)

13. Germany: $2.2 billion (2.6%)

14. Paraguay: $2.1 billion (2.4%)

15. Spain: $2 billion (2.3%)

Together, these 15 countries contributed 82.4% of total global beef exports during 2025.


Among the leading exporters, the strongest year-over-year growth from 2024 to 2025 came from:

Meanwhile, several countries experienced declines in beef export sales, including:

The United States, Australia, and the Netherlands remained the dominant suppliers of fresh or chilled beef, jointly accounting for over one-third of global exports in this category.

These countries collectively supplied 86.2% of the world’s fresh or chilled beef exports in 2025.


The fastest-growing exporters in this segment were:

The United States was the only major exporter to post a decline, with exports decreasing by 9.2% from the previous year.

The above countries accounted for 93.4% of total frozen beef exports worldwide during 2025.


The strongest growth rates among frozen beef exporters were recorded by:

· Netherlands (+43.2%)

The United States was the only major frozen beef exporter to see a decline, with export sales falling by 14.7% year over year.
