This figure represents a significant 26.4% increase compared to 2021, when imports totaled $382.9 billion. On a year-over-year basis, Taiwan's imports grew by 22.8% from 2024, reflecting strong demand across multiple sectors.


Based on Purchasing Power Parity (PPP), the New Taiwan Dollar depreciated by 3.1% against the US dollar in 2025, making imported goods relatively more expensive for domestic buyers.

The latest country-level data shows that 73.1% of Taiwan's imports originated from the following key partners:

· Mainland China (19%)

· South Korea (13.2%)

· Japan (11.3%)

· United States (10.1%)

· Malaysia (3.9%)

· Vietnam (2.96%)

· Germany (2.95%)

· Singapore (2.7%)
