Global exports of sawn wood reached US$38.8 billion in 2025, reflecting continued demand for processed timber across construction, furniture manufacturing, and industrial applications.
Compared with US$56.3 billion in 2021, the overall value of sawn wood exports declined by 31.1% over the five-year period. Despite this longer-term decrease, international shipments recovered slightly in 2025, with export value increasing 2.9% from US$37.7 billion in 2024.
Canada, Sweden, Russia, Germany, and Finland remained the world's leading suppliers of sawn wood. Together, these five countries accounted for 48.5% of global export value, reinforcing their dominant position in the international timber market.
