According to the statistical analysis of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers ("CAAM"), China's automobile export hit a record high in 2023, reaching 4.91 million units, up 57.9% year-on-year.

In 2023, the export of traditional fuel vehicles amounted to 3.707 million units, a year-on-year increase of 52.4%. Among them, 388,000 units of traditional fuel vehicles were exported in December, up 0.5% from a year earlier, and up 60.3% year-on-year.


In 2023, exports of new energy vehicles amounted to 1.203 million units, up 77.6% year-on-year. Among them, 111,000 new energy vehicles were exported in December, up 15.2% sequentially and 36.5% year-on-year.


According to the data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) earlier this month, China's automobile production and sales volume will reach 30.161 million and 30.094 million respectively in 2023, and the top 10 automobile manufacturers (groups) in terms of sales volume will include SAIC Group, China FAW, BYD, Changan Automobile, GAC, Dongfeng, Geely Holding, Chery Holding, BAIC Group, and Great Wall Motor in 2023.


CCA pointed out that the above ten enterprises compared with the previous year, BYD and Chery Holdings sales growth is more obvious, Geely Holdings, BAIC Group and Great Wall Motor sales also showed double-digit growth, Changan Automobile, China FAW and Guangzhou Automobile Group sales increased slightly, other enterprises sales declined to varying degrees.
