The Vice President of Iran's National Saffron Council stated that the saffron produced in the country is of excellent quality and is highly sought after by domestic and international customers.

Gholamreza Miri estimated the global average consumption of saffron to be 320 tons.

Previously, the Chairman of the Iran Saffron Exporters and Sellers Association stated that in the first eight months of the previous Iranian year (starting from March 21, 2023), the country's saffron exports increased by 28%.

He added that during this period, Iran's saffron was primarily exported to Spain, the United Arab Emirates, China, and Afghanistan.
