Global banana imports continued to grow steadily in 2025, with total worldwide purchases reaching approximately US$18.5 billion. Strong demand from both developed and emerging economies, combined with stable supply chains from major producing regions, supported sustained growth in global banana trade.
Compared with 2021, when global banana imports were valued at US$16.7 billion, total import spending increased by 10.9% over five years. On a year-over-year basis, the market also expanded, rising by 6.7% from US$17.3 billion in 2024 to US$18.5 billion in 2025.
