The latest country-specific data shows that Kazakhstan’s exports are mainly purchased by importers from the following countries: mainland China (accounting for 16.2% of Kazakhstan’s total), Italy (14.7%), Russia (11.6%), the Netherlands (7.3 %), Turkey (4.9%), Uzbekistan (4.6%), France (4%), South Korea (3.1%), Spain (2.71%), India (2.7%), Romania (2.5%) and Greece (2.2% ).

Kazakhstan's top ten exports accounted for 94.8% of its total global exports.

Gemstones and precious metals are the fastest growing among the top ten export categories, growing by 1,186% from 2021 to 2022. The second largest export sales improvement was oilseeds, which increased by 67%. Kazakhstan had the third largest increase in exports of fossil fuels, including oil, at 23.9%.

The largest decline among Kazakhstan's top 10 export categories was cereals, which fell by -27.3% year-on-year. The decrease was due to lower sales of Kazakh barley, wheat and rice on international markets.

According to the more granular four-digit HS code, Kazakhstan’s most valuable export is crude oil (46.5% of the country’s total exports). In second place are Kazakhstan’s exports of unwrought gold (12.5%), refined copper and unwrought alloys (5%), copper ores (4.1%), ferroalloys (4%), processed coal (including Solid fuels made from coal) (3.2%). Petroleum (3.1%), radioactive chemical elements (2.4%), petroleum gas (2.2%), and then unwrought silver (1.7%).
