Data released today by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) showed that China's new-energy vehicle sales amounted to 1.026 million units in November, an increase of about 30 percent over the 786,000 units sold in the same month last year, and an increase of 7.32 percent from a year earlier.

China Association of Automobile Manufacturers' new-energy vehicle sales are automakers' wholesale sales, including sales in China and sales exported to overseas markets. New energy vehicles include pure electric vehicles (BEVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) and fuel cell vehicles.

Sales of pure electric vehicles hit a record high of 702,000 units in November, up 13.5% year-on-year and 8.67% year-on-year.

Plug-in hybrid vehicle sales hit a record high of 323,000 units in November, up 89.5% year-on-year and 4.19% sequentially.

Fuel cell vehicle sales increased 76.3% to 1,000 units in November.

National auto sales in November were 2.97 million units, up 27.4% year-on-year and 4.1% sequentially.

This means that the penetration rate of new energy vehicles was 34.5% in November, up from 33.5% in October.

From January to November, China's new-energy vehicle sales amounted to 8.304 million units, up 36.7 percent year-on-year, accounting for 30.8 percent of the total vehicle sales of 26.889 million units.

Pure electric vehicles sold 5.86 million units in January-November, up 23.6% year-on-year. Sales of plug-in hybrid vehicles amounted to 2.439 million units, up 83.5% year-on-year.

Excluding the export factor, China's new energy vehicle sales hit a record high of 929,000 units in November, up 33.9% year-on-year and 11.7% sequentially.

From January to November, China's new energy vehicle sales (excluding exports) amounted to 7.212 million units, up 31.7% year-on-year.

In November, China exported 482,000 vehicles, up 46.3% year-on-year and down 1.1% sequentially.

Among them, 97,000 new energy vehicles were exported, up 1.6% year-on-year and down 21.8% sequentially.

From January to November, China exported 4.412 million vehicles, up 58.4% year-on-year. The total number of new energy vehicles exported during the period was 1.091 million, up 83.5% year-on-year.

China produced 1.074 million new-energy vehicles in November, up 39.2% year-on-year.

In November, the country produced 3.093 million vehicles, up 29.4% year-on-year and 7% from a year earlier.
